The Scrum master will facilitate and lead the Agile process for a global SaaS application. This person will work closely with the product and development teams to ensure that sprints are planned and executed on time and on budget. You should have excellent knowledge of the scrum framework, including all its artifacts and techniques. You will need the ability to coordinate people and projects while occasionally facilitating changes while keeping your mindset on the deliverables. This person is a strong communicator, a capable leader, and invested in Agile frameworks. The Scrum master will report to the Chief Experience Officer.
Responsibilities
- Manage the scrum process and ceremonies using Agile methodology and scrum practices
- Help the product owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction
- Conduct sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other related activities for sprint management
- Resolve conflicts and issues that occur
- Support the product owner and assist where needed
- Help teams implement changes effectively
- Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
- Help the scrum team achieve higher levels of scrum maturity
- Support the product owner and provide education where needed
- Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior experience on a scrum team
- Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
- Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the scrum
- Experience with successful Agile techniques
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment; self-motivated
- Organized with attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning
- Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices
- Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science or related field required, Master’s degree a plus
- Certified Scrum Master
- Competency with JIRA
- At least three years of related experience required
